Read through ‘The Doorbell Rang’ and experiment with division and multiplication strategies. There are many activities to show learning and understanding.

Print and Go

• Anchor chart to show different strategies for division and multiplication
• Print and go tasks for exploring sharing of cookies in different ways.
• Don’t forget to record the fact families 3×4=12, 4×3=12, 12 div 3=4, 12 div 4=3

Baking Cookies

• This task is a great task for focus groups to show arrays for multiplication and division.
• Read the instructions on each cookie tray and then show the array using the cookies or your own counters.

Spinner Game

• This task is a great task for focus groups to show arrays for multiplication and division.
• Read the instructions on each cookie tray and then show the array using the cookies or your own counters.
• Laminate for long term use for learning centers.

Make a Booklet

• Copy the booklets and staple together. Cut down the center to make two booklets.
• The students can draw the cookies or use the cookie shapes to glue onto each page.
• Don’t forget to record the answer on each page.
