This is a religious event  – Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Day. The tasks can be stand-alone and treated in isolation. Here in Australia we link it to Easter but do not necessarily go into the intricacies of the religious significance.

We use cooking pancakes as an English, Numeracy and History task.
