This Bat Themed Bundle contains the following two packs – please check them out so that you can see exactly what is in this bundle.

Bat Writing Pack

This pack will give you plenty of writing templates to choose from. The Bat Writing Pack will explore facts and opinions and help to gather information about these creatures.

Tasks include –
  • What do you know about bats?
  • What would you like to know about bats?
  • What is your new learning? Use this as you discover new learning
  • Bats are nocturnal – use the pictures of animals to place under the correct headings ‘Nocturnal’ or ‘Not Nocturnal’
  • I see, I think, I wonder – an example is provided for you to share
  • Sentences – simple, compound, complex – an example is provided for you to share
  • Bats are-can-have, there are two formats to choose from. Copy as many as you need in colour or in black and white
  • Statements/Question Matrix
  • Fact/Opinion Matrix
  • Description/Action Matrix
  • ‘at’ family words
  • Compare bats to birds using a Venn Diagram
  • A Day in the Life of a Bat – narrative and three different lined papers to use

Bat Themed Math Pack

This pack will give you plenty of math tasks to choose from and use to differentiate for your grade. The Bat Themed Math Pack will explore numbers through a theme based on bats.

Tasks include –

  • Stories for 10 and 20 – print and go
  • All task cards and centers are provided with two printing options – one is with less colour and can also be printed on coloured card for a third printing option.
  • Ten Frames – use as flashcards, trust the count and
  • discuss strategies used to know that 7 is 4 and 3 as well as 5 and 2
  • Blank Ten Frames – Add to 10 – Roll a 10-sided dice and then show using the bat cards. The student can then write an equation to match ie if you roll a 3 the equation would be 3+7=10
  • Skip Counting Bats by 5’s and 10’s, sequence or use as flashcards to say what would be next in the sequence
  • Doubles – Have cards face down and pick up 1 and double it
  • Adding bats- have cards face down and pick up 2 and add
  • Time for fruit. Match the bat to the time and the correct fruit.
