Description

Addition and Subtraction Number Sense to 20 – Working with numbers to 20 is important and creating a sense of what these numbers are is vital for when we start to use addition and subtraction of collections. This set is perfect for mini erasers and does contain mini cards to use as the cactus counters. Your students will love this set!

Tasks include –

Card Match

  • match the numeral to the correct card.

Posters

  • Use these as posters in your classroom. Enjoy the bright and cheery posters to help create a number sense to 20. Included on the posters are the numeral and words. There is a black and white version that can be printed on coloured paper too.
  • Ten Frames – Standard and Non Standard Ten Frames. Two versions of ten frames with matching numerals. Vertical and horizontal frames for creating number collections to 20. There is a black and white version that can be printed on coloured paper too.

Show the collection

  • Use the counters, playdough or your mini erasers to show the collection.
  • There is a black and white version that can be printed on coloured paper too.

Number Bonds

  • Addition and Subtraction Mats – missing result and missing addend.
  • Use a 10 or 20 sided dice to show equations. For example roll a 15 and the equations could be 15=10+5 or 15=12+3 or 15=17-2 or 15+5=20 or 15-2=12.
  • There is a black and white version that can be printed on coloured paper too.

Counters

  • Use these themed counters to show collections and use them on the addition and subtraction mats. Copy x 10 so that you have enough to use. Copy and laminate.
  • There is a black and white version that can be printed on coloured paper too. If you have erasers that are rainbow themed you can use those.

Ten Frame Mats

  • Use these mats and the counters to show the equations.
  • There are mats for addition and subtraction to 10 and 20.

Part Part Whole

  • Use these cards to write the answers.
  • Use the counters to help you work out the answer.
  • These cards can be used as prompts for the Number Bonds.
  • There is a black and white version that can be printed on coloured paper too.

Assessment

  • Write in your students’ names (this is not an editable file).
  • Collect information and set new goals.
